Allergen & Food Safety Policy
Allergen Notice
Odette Confectionery products are made in a dedicated secondary kitchen within our home that is used exclusively for our confectionery production. This kitchen operates under Utah’s Home Consumption & Homemade Food Act (HCHFA) and, as required by law, is not inspected by the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food.
While this kitchen is not commercially licensed, it is reserved solely for baking and food preparation related to Odette Confectionery, allowing us to maintain a clean, organized, and consistent workspace.
Customers with severe allergies should note the following:
Common Allergens Used in Our Kitchen
Our products contain or may come into contact with:
Tree nuts (almond flour, pistachios, hazelnuts)
Dairy (butter, milk, cream, chocolate)
Eggs (egg whites used in macaron batter)
Soy (some chocolates)
Food colorings (including FDA-approved dyes)
Gluten (not used in macarons, but possible cross-contact in the kitchen)
Because our confections are produced in a home kitchen environment, cross-contact with any allergen cannot be completely eliminated.
Customers with severe or life-threatening allergies should use discretion.
Ingredient Transparency
We believe that extraordinary confections begin with extraordinary ingredients. Our fillings and ganaches use:
Real fruit purées
Premium chocolate
Pure nut pastes
High-quality butter and cream
Natural extracts where possible
We welcome questions regarding any specific ingredient or flavor.
Food Safety Practices
Although our kitchen is not commercially inspected, we uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety, including:
Strict sanitation routines
Proper ingredient storage
Safe temperature controls for dairy-based fillings
Fresh, small-batch production
Frequent handwashing and glove use
Dedicated equipment used only for confectionery production
Your trust and safety matter deeply to us.
Storage & Shelf Life
For best flavor and texture:
Store macarons at room temperature and enjoy within 1–2 days.
Refrigerate up to 5 days in an airtight container.
Freeze for 4–5 weeks, then thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
Let macarons come fully to room temperature before serving for ideal texture.
