Custom Orders & Events Policy

At Odette Confectionery, we love creating macarons that bring elegance to life’s most memorable moments. Whether you’re ordering for a wedding, baby shower, birthday party, corporate event, or custom celebration, this policy outlines the guidelines for our specialty and event-based orders.

Custom and event orders require additional time, planning, and preparation. Please review the following information before placing your request.

CUSTOM ORDER PROCESS

1. Inquiry & Availability

To begin a custom or event order, please submit an inquiry through our website or email us directly at team@odetteconfectionery.com.

We recommend reaching out 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for:

  • Weddings

  • Large events

  • Custom color matching

  • Seasonal dates (Mother’s Day, holidays, etc.)

We will confirm availability based on our production schedule and the complexity of your order.

2. Custom Flavors & Color Matching

We offer a curated selection of flavors, but we are happy to discuss custom flavors when possible. Custom flavors may require additional development time and an added fee.

Color Matching

We can match event palettes using icing colors and edible dusts; however:

  • An exact Pantone or fabric-perfect match cannot be guaranteed

  • Colors appear differently depending on lighting, temperature, and baking variables

  • We will always aim for the closest, most elegant match possible

3. Minimum Order Quantities

Custom and event orders have a minimum order requirement:

  • Standard Event Orders: 24 macarons

  • Custom Color or Custom Flavor Orders: 36 macarons

  • Wedding Orders: minimum varies by complexity (typically 36–72+)

Larger volume discounts may be available depending on the order.

PRICING & PAYMENT FOR CUSTOM ORDERS

Retainers & Final Payment

For custom or event orders:

  • A 50% non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your date

  • The remaining balance is due 7–14 days before the event, depending on the scale

Your date is not secured until the retainer is received.

Why retainers are non-refundable:

Custom orders require advance planning, ingredient purchasing, and schedule blocking. The retainer covers this preparation time.

Pricing Adjustments

Final pricing is based on:

  • Design complexity

  • Custom colors

  • Custom flavors

  • Packaging style (gift boxes, tower displays, favor packs)

  • Quantity

  • Delivery (if applicable)

We will provide a full quote before confirming your booking.

PACKAGING & PRESENTATION

We offer several packaging options, including:

  • Classic macaron box sets

  • Custom or themed gift boxes (subject to availability)

  • Clear favor boxes

  • Ribbon and embellishment add-ons

Custom packaging may involve an additional fee.

We do not currently offer table styling, dessert table setup, or rented display stands — but we can provide recommendations.

EVENT DELIVERY

Event delivery is available on a limited basis and must be arranged in advance.

Delivery Requirements Under HCHFA:

  • Delivery must be made directly to the customer, not to a venue or third party without prior arrangement

  • We cannot deliver for resale

  • Delivery area is limited to Layton and surrounding areas

  • A delivery fee applies based on distance

If choosing delivery, please ensure:

  • Someone onsite is available to receive the order

  • The venue allows outside food

  • Proper climate control is available (macarons are temperature-sensitive)

CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES

Cancellations

  • Event orders canceled more than 14 days before the event may receive credit toward a future order

  • Cancellations made within 14 days of the event are not eligible for refund, as ingredients and scheduling have already been allocated

Order Changes

We will accommodate changes whenever possible, but:

  • Changes must be requested no later than 10 days before the event

  • Color or flavor changes may not be possible depending on availability

  • Increasing quantity may incur additional cost

  • Decreasing quantity is not refundable after production begins

MACARON CARE FOR EVENTS

Macarons are delicate and should be:

  • Stored in a cool environment

  • Kept away from direct sunlight

  • Refrigerated if not served within a few hours

  • Brought to room temperature for ideal texture

Once the order has been delivered or picked up, the care and condition of the macarons become the responsibility of the customer or event host.
